Vocabulary of 'The Circuit'

Here you have the meaning of the words that we didn't have time to comment the last day.

- Extenuating circumstances; n. surrounding factors (sometimes called mitigation) which make a crime appear less serious, less aggravated, or without criminal intent, and thus warranting a more lenient punishment or lesser charge (manslaughter rather than murder, for example).

- To be fined a sum of money; A sum of money required to be paid as a penalty for an offense. A forfeiture or penalty to be paid to the offended party in a civil action.

- To sit on the bench; The seat where judges sit in court.

- Burglary; The crime of entering a building illegally in order to steal things.

- Smuggling;
To import or export without paying lawful customs charges or duties.

-Assault; An unlawful threat or attempt to do bodily injury to another.

- Warranted; A judicial writ authorizing an officer to make a search, seizure, or arrest or to execute a judgment.

- Mandatory; having the nature or powers of a mandate
